BLOOD ORIGIN
(THE WITCHER)

We were approached to create a DOOH campaign for The Witcher spin-off serie Blood Origin, teasing the serie opening and portraying the main characters. We were provided with artworks developed for the static campaign and with additional assets including the official 3D title animation.

 

Our goal was to animate these assets in a way that was consistent with the serie contents and the original artworks.

The output intended for the DOOH was one of its most recurrent standard: a screen with portrait orientation, as the campaign was focusing on London Tube, shopping centres.

 

An extensive research on characters and serie contents was necessary to determine the nature of skills, powers and the best way to illustrate them: thanks to frame.io portions of footage were made available and we could maintain a constant dialogue with the client.
 

As per the brief, we had to produce a video for each character, 10 seconds long, so we had the opportunity to play with different colours, environments and visual effects.

The first asset to be developed was the monolith (a central element within the serie), created with a rotating, bespoke 3D model, textured as glass and thus allowing a dispersion effect placing the character picture behind the moving glass object.​
